Year 5 and 6 Boating tomorrow.Tue Apr 06 02:22pm
Finally we have a promising weather day tomorrow for boating! Please if you are able to help, and haven’t already let us know, could you please email Miss Laing: firstname.lastname@example.org
And of course kids, don’t forget your gear!
Back Beach Parent HelpersThu Apr 01 01:58pm
Kia ora everyone,
Thank you to everyone for returning their Back Beach permission forms, and for all of our parents who have offered to help on the day.
We really do appreciate this and if you have indicated that you are willing to come, please take this message as confirmation that we would love for you to join us.
However we do have a slightly embarrasing problem of having too many helpers! We are absolutely blown away with offers of support, but this does make our group sizes too big to fit onto the boat rotation. The other rotations (there are four rotations that the chidlren will go through) are not size dependent. This does mean that if all children and helpers turn up, we may not be able to offer all parents the oppportunity to join us on the boat.
If your circumstances have changed and you can no longer help out, please let us know and that is okay, we are well covered. If we do have too many numbers, we will do our very best to accomodate everyone.
Again, we really appreciate all of your support and look forward to having so many adults with us over the two days.

Easter Holidays ReminderWed Mar 24 02:00pm
Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
There may be some confusion around what the Easter Holidays mean for schools that we can hopefully shed some light on. Easter most often falls outside of term time so it does not impact on schools, however it is during term this year.
The school will be closed for instruction on the following days:
Good Friday 2nd April
Easter Monday 5th April
Easter Tuesday 6th April
Wondering what Easter Tuesday is? Due to the Mondaynisation laws, Easter Sunday cannot be mondaynised to Easter Monday, so therefore the Tuesday is the official observation day. Under the Education Act (Section 65c, subsection 1a) this means that schools are not allowed to open on that day. We understand that this might be a pain for some families who will continue to work on that day, we would rather continue through as well to be honest!
All of our important dates can be found on the website or in the School App for future reference, and you can also find details in the newsletter.
